This Week at Churchill Estates

Each week we will present a run down of highlights of what will be going on at Churchill Estates Retirement Community in the coming week.

Today is Martin Luther King Day, when we honor the life of one of the greatest men this country has known. Doctor King, made a huge impact in the fight for Civil rights in the 1960’s, and his presence is still felt today. His “I Have a Dream” speech remains one of the most famous orations in this countries history. The principles Dr. King taught were more than just thoughts on Civil Rights, they were principles about being a better human being, and are still relevant today. His teaching can help each of us in one way or another. Below is a video from Dr King’s I have a Dream Speech.

It’s another Monday and the month is flying by. Talk in the dining room this morning is about football, which isn’t unusual, but today it’s about the Seahawks. The thrilling comeback sends the Seahawks to their second consecutive Super Bowl; they will face the Patriots in two weeks.

This week we have some fun things going on, today we are going up the street to play bingo with our neighbors at Valley West, it’s a good way to get out and also makes a sense of community between our residents and theirs.

If you are looking for some fun Wednesday should be fun, we are going shopping at Albertson’s and Bi-Mart. We are also will be having our resident council meeting in our Assisted Living.

Friday we will be showing Maleficent in the Multi-Purpose Room at 2:00 PM, we will be providing popcorn.
