This Week at Churchill Estates

Each week we will present a run down of highlights of what will be going on at Churchill Estates Retirement Community in the coming week. It is the first week in October and here in Eugene, Oregon it looks like we will have a few more nice weeks.

The Men of Oregon rebounded this weekend, albeit slowly. The Ducks went to Colorado and won 41-24. Oregon couldn’t get anything going in the air with either Jeff Lockie or Taylor Allie as Vernon Adams Jr. sat out for the second time in three games. Royce Freeman and Taj Griffin became the first tandem of Oregon rushers to each gain over 100 yards since 2012 when Marcus Mariota and De’Anthony Thomas accomplished the feat against Virginia. Oregon once again didn’t look very well on offense, Coach Helfrich pulled some tricks out of the box with a flanker pass for a touchdown by Bralon Addison. Washington State will come to Autzen this weekend, as the Ducks look to find some fluidity on offense and continue to get better on defense.

Here at Churchill we listen to what our residents request for meals, and today we start a new meal plan. For the last few years we have served dinner as the biggest meal of the day as was decided by our residents at resident council. A few months ago our residents voted to move the big meal of the day to lunch. We are excited to see how it goes.

Today we ask you to help support the Alzheimer's Association by going to the pizza feed at Papa's Pizza sponsored by Visiting Angels. Follow the link below to find a flyer for the event.

This week we open the week with a trip to the Dollar Store to do some light shopping. Wednesday we will go on our weekly shopping trip, this week we will be going to Market of Choice. Thursday is our monthly birthday party, this month we will have a gospel choir giving us a blessing as our entertainment. Friday we will have Stan playing the Accordion in the Assisted Living and Reader’s Theatre in the Multi-Purpose Room.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is Sunday afternoon at 2 PM, it will be at Alton Baker Park, if you haven’t joined a team for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, please join us in raising awareness and money to fight this disease.
