This Week at Churchill Estates

Each week we will present a run down of highlights of what will be going on at Churchill Estates Retirement Community in the coming week. We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Yesterday we had some crazy weather, cloudy, pouring rain and then hail that covered the ground for a while. It was like little Easter eggs were falling from the sky. We are looking at a week of more rain and periods of sunshine this week, our rhododendrons are starting to bloom and its quickly becoming one of the most beautiful times of the year.

This week is a packed sports week as today is opening day for Major League Baseball, we have lots of baseball fans who will be glued to their TV’s with the hope that this is the year their team wins the World Series. Tonight is the NCAA Basketball Championship as Wisconsin takes on Duke, and to top it off it is the start of Masters Week, which culminates with the playing of the Masters in Augusta Georgia starting Thursday!

Today we are going shopping at the Dollar Store, these early week shopping trips are a treat for our residents, and gives them flexibility with their schedules later in the week. Wednesday is our weekly grocery-shopping trip, this week we are going to Fred Meyer. We will be loading up the bus and the van and taking over the store, you’ll be sure to see our residents roaming the isles.

Thursday is our Monthly Birthday Party. This month our entertainment will be brought to us by Lee Ray Ross, he will be singing for our residents in the Independent dining room at 2:30 pm.

Friday we will be joined by Stan in our Assisted Living, he will be playing his accordion for our residents at 2:30 pm. Stan has become a resident favorite ever since he played for our Christmas party last year. At 3 pm we will have Read’s Theatre, this is an activity that is growing, local authors bring their works in and share them with our residents.

It looks like it will be a great week; we are looking forward to everything it will bring! Join us for some of the fun.  For a full list of activities and events please visit our calendar
