This Week at Churchill Estates

Each week we will present a run down of highlights of what will be going on at Churchill Estates Retirement Community in the coming week. We are coming to the back stretch in the month of July, this is the last full week of the month and it has gone by quickly. It was warm weekend here in Eugene with high on Saturday reaching close to triple digits. The week ahead should see temperatures in the mid 80’s with very little chance of rain.

For some of us it has been some early mornings with the Open Championship taking place at the birthplace of golf St. Andrews on the Old Course. Mother nature once again let it be known that she is the star of the show, pushing the final round back to today. As of this post the leaders are finishing up the last few holes of the front nine with Zach Johnson leading at 16 under par.

This week we get going with Bingo up at Valley West, a little change of scenery for our residents to get out and start the week right, and maybe even win some money in the process. Tuesday we will have Avon calling, this gives our residents a chance to get all their favorite Avon products.

Wednesday we will be going to Walmart for our weekly grocery-shopping trip, watch out for us roaming the isles. Friday will be a fun day, and also a great way to get us ready for the weekend. It starts off with the Churchill Chuckers heading to Solvang to play some Wii Bowling. It’s been a few months since the Chuckers have played an outside tournament and they are excited to get out and have some competition. They have been practicing hard the last few days and that will continue all the way till Friday. Later Friday we will have our Friday Music hour, starting at 2:30 PM with our Marketing Director John Frederick singing in in the Residential Care lobby, then at 3:00 PM our friend Gordon will be playing his guitar in our Assisted Living.

All in all it’s a great week to be at Churchill Estates Retirement Community, come join the fun!
