This Week at Churchill Estates

EACH WEEK WE WILL PRESENT A RUN DOWN OF HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT WILL BE GOING ON AT CHURCHILL ESTATES RETIREMENT COMMUNITY, AND NEWS AROUND OUR AREA IN THE COMING WEEK. WE ALSO TALK SPORTS AND BIG EVENTS HAPPENING IN LANE COUNTY OREGON.

We had wonderful weather all weekend with no rain and temps in the upper to mid 70's. today showers this morning feed grey skies all afternoon. High today 62. Tomorrow, partly sunny with highs nearing 70. Rain returns later in the week.

In Sports the Oregon Ducks suffered a historic loss to the Washington Huskies. The final score 70-21 indicated the most points scored by an opponent at Autzen Stadium. On the bright side, Oregon started freshman quarterback Justin Herbert who shook off a rough start and displayed very good arm talent and speed when he ran with the ball. The future looks bright for Oregon.

Sunday, Churchill Estates Retirement Community was one of the proud sponsors of the Walk to End Alzheimer's. A record breaking crowd filled Alton Baker Park and make the 5k trek along the river to help raise awareness and money that funds research to someday put and end to Alzheimer's Disease.  With a goal to raise $75,000.00 in mind, Churchill Estates together with other local companies and people from our community we helped raise a staggering Eugene Walk record $105,000.00. Thanks to our Walk team Josh, John, and Susan who proudly walked to support our Memory Care Residents and their family members who suffer from this disease.

Speaking of family members, we'd like to express special recognition to Liz Dresser who personally raised over $500.00 and became a honored member of the Alzheimer's Associations Champions Club! Way to go Liz!!!
