EACH WEEK WE WILL PRESENT A RUN DOWN OF HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT WILL BE GOING ON AT CHURCHILL ESTATES RETIREMENT COMMUNITY IN THE COMING WEEK. IT WAS A VERY NICE FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND HERE IN EUGENE, OREGON.
Astute weather watchers over the weekend saw sunshine, rain, a sunset rainbow, sleet, more rain, and more sunshine. It was pretty crazy. This week and we can expect some sunny skies early this week, then rain on Thursday, but the sun will pop through this weekend and temps will rise to the 80's Saturday and Sunday.
Congratulations to the Cleveland Cavs. Your 2016 NBA Champions. It was pretty amazing to watch this team come back from a 3-1 deficit in the finals beat the defending champs Golden State 93-89 and end a 52-year championship drought for the city of Cleveland. (We all know the Browns weren't going to win any Championships anytime soon.)
In Local Sports, Summer Baseball is back and the Eugene Emeralds season opened with the Em's winning 2 out of 3 in front of packed home crowds all weekend. They hit the road for the next couple of games and return home to PK Park Thursday night.
We have another busy week planned at Churchill Estates. Monday is the first day of summer and we feature the second half of the movie Titanic in the Assisted Living TV Lounge. Later we’ll load the bus and go play Bingo up the hill at Valley West. Tuesday our Coloring Club meets in the Independent Living Family Room. Coloring Club is a chance to be social, express your creativity, develop your fine motor skills, reduce stress, and make a free decoration. Wednesday we’ll take a shopping trip to Walmart. Thursday we’ll take communion and play Pokeno. On Friday, we’ll go back to Valley West for a Wii Bowling Tournament where we hope to re-claim the Championship Trophy.
We hope you’ll stop by and join in on the fun, check in on the progress of our landscaping project, or come over for some friendly conversation.
