This Week at Churchill Estates

EACH WEEK WE WILL PRESENT A RUN DOWN OF HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT WILL BE GOING ON AT CHURCHILL ESTATES RETIREMENT COMMUNITY, AND NEWS AROUND OUR AREA IN THE COMING WEEK. WITH MUCH TO DISCUSS THIS WEEK, LET'S GET TO IT!

Cooling temps are the way of things in the fall. Autumn begins this Thursday and the Thermometer agrees. Highs today in the low 70's turn into a couple days an the upper to mid 60's. No rain is expected.

In Sports, Congratulations are in order for the Eugene Emeralds! After winning both halves of the regular season, the Ems sealed the deal and one week ago today they won the 2016 Northwest League Championship! GO EMS!  The Oregon Ducks suffered a tough loss on the Football field this weekend when they dropped a games to Nebraska but the bigger loss the Ducks may have to deal with is the losses of Olympic Hurdler Devon Allen who's season is over after tearing his ACL, and Junior Left Tackle Tyrell Crosby who broke his foot and also won't be playing again this year, leaving the Ducks with four freshmen on the O-Line. Oregon faces Colorado this weekend who will be dealing with injuries themselves. Buffaloes Quaterback Sefo Liufau injured his ankle in last weekends loss to Michigan and may not play against Oregon.

Residents of Churchill Estates enjoyed a trip to Valley West yesterday to play Bingo. Today features Coffee Klatch this morning, Coloring Club this afternoon, as well as Poker tonight. Wednesday we'll go shopping at Walmart. Thursdays our Wii Bowlers will travel across town to take on Crescent Park, and Friday we wrap up the week with a tour of the U of O Art Museums.

Sounds like a whole lot of fun! Consider this your invitation to join us!
