Each week we will present a run down of highlights of what will be going on at Churchill Estates Retirement Community in the coming week. It’s the first week of March and even though it’s felt like it for a couple weeks now, we are approaching spring!
Before we go forward and look at what is happening, lets take a look back at the last few days. Friday was our annual “Senior Prom” that is put on by the National Honors Society senior class students at Churchill High School. It was a wonderful time for our residents and the students. We will have a blog about it up shortly, if you want to see the Register Guard Article (Click Here). Check our Facebook for pictures from the Senior Prom ( Click Here )
Yesterday was Senior Day for the Oregon Women’s Basketball team and friend of the Community Katelyn Loper who played her last game at Matthew Knight Arena. The Ducks fought hard and upset number 19 Stanford to end their regular season. There was an emotional celebration of the seniors after the game and perhaps a vision of what is to come for the Ducks in the next couple years. To Kate, we hope you enjoy your last couple games in the Ducks uniform, and hope that before you graduate that you come back and see us again. The Ducks will now be getting ready for the Pac 12 tournament that starts Thursday morning; they will play Washington State, Go Ducks!
This week we have some fun events going on. Today we are going shopping at the Dollar Store, one of our resident’s favorite places to go. Tuesday we will have Avon Calling in our Family Room, come get all your Avon Products.
Wednesday is our weekly shopping trip, this week we are going to Safeway to get some groceries. Thursday we will be having some Pets visiting our lobbies, these therapy animals are always a big draw for our residents. Friday we will be going to the library in the morning to get whatever books and reading materials our residents need. Friday afternoon Annie O'Shae will be singing for our residents in our Residential Care lobby.
For a full list of activities and events please visit our calendar.
We are looking forward to a great week at Churchill Estates, and it seems like we will have great weather too. Hope you all have a great week!
