The beginning of a new year represents time to reflect on the past, and time to start anew. It's a great opportunity to look back at the previous year, identify areas where you'd like improvements and make changes. The symbolic turning of the page on a calendar can be very cathartic in the way it represents putting the past behind you and welcoming positive things to come.
Sometimes those positive things are things you have to work hard to accomplish like quitting smoking, or trying to lose weight to become healthier. Sometimes the positive things just take valuable time it takes devoting to like reading the bible more often, or working on a favorite hobby or craft to give you pleasure.
This year, when it's time to consider making a resolution, try thinking of the ONE thing that you can control in your life that will give you the greatest satisfaction, envision it, make a plan to help you achieve it, then immediately take that first step. Share your resolution with at least one person you know who will cheer you on, and work a little bit every day until you have the satisfaction you desire. You may surprise yourself at what you can accomplish. Give yourself the gift of a happy new year!
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” – C.S. Lewis
