Each week we will present a run down of highlights of what will be going on at Churchill Estates Retirement Community in the coming week. It was a typical fall weekend here in Eugene, Oregon, a little bit of rain, a little bit of wind, a little bit of sun. The leaves are almost all turned and starting to fall, which means lots of work for our maintenance staff.
12 years in a row, that’s where the streak of wins by the Oregon Ducks over the Washington Huskies now sits. Vernon Adams Jr. returned to the starting lineup on Saturday night and with him the offense of the Ducks was instantly recognizable. The last four weeks the offense has looked like a shell of its former self, but that was quickly changed in the very first drive as the Ducks took it down the field on two long pass plays. Darren Carrington returned from suspension and picked up right where he left off, catching five passes for one hundred and twenty five yards and two touchdowns. The defense played well down the stretch, pressuring the quarterback and getting a turnover late to seal the win. The Ducks have a bye this weekend, which is well needed as they try to heal up, they will travel to the valley of the sun to play Arizona State on Thursday the 29th.
This week we get started by taking a trip up the hill to go play bingo with our friends at Valley West. Our residents like getting out and playing with some ole faces that they don’t get to see very often. Wednesday we go on our weekly grocery shopping trip, this week we will be roaming the isles of Albertson’s and Bi-Mart.
Friday the Chuckers will be fired up as they play in their next Wii Bowling tournament at Valley West. The Chuckers came away with another first place trophy a couple weeks ago, and look to keep their winning streak alive. For those who don’t go up to Valley West, our friend Gordon will be playing his guitar in our Assisted Living as part of our Friday music hour.
All in all it’s a great week to be at Churchill Estates Retirement Community, come join the fun, and Go Ducks!
