This Week at Churchill Estates

Each week we will present a run down of highlights of what will be going on at Churchill Estates Retirement Community in the coming week. For the second Monday in a row we begin this week with a downpour, rain yesterday and today will certainly give us some green in the coming weeks. The sun will make an appearance hopefully on Wednesday and lead us to some nice weather for the rest of the week and into the weekend.

Yesterday the Ducks run in the NCAA Tournament came to an end in Omaha once again at the hands of Wisconsin 72-65. Joe Young scored thirty in his last game in an Oregon jersey, kept Oregon in it, when no one else stepped up for the Ducks. The loss ends a remarkable season for the Ducks who returned 3 scholarship players and were picked to place eighth in the Pac 12. The Ducks surprised everyone coming in second in the conference and sweeping the major conference awards, Player of the Year (Joe Young) and Coach of the Year (Dana Altman). Great season Ducks!

Today our Wii Bowling team the Churchill Chuckers are going up to Valley West to play against their residents. Should be a fun time for the Chuckers as they sharpened their games up last week with the co-ed tournament, which was won by the men, who got revenge after the ladies took the win in the last co-ed tournament. Marge Haynes took top score bowling a 239, and Tom Newton bowled a 236 to take top score for the men. Now they look to put up another solid performance and bring home another trophy!

Wednesday our weekly shopping trip takes us to Walmart, look for the bus; we will be roaming around the store looking for the best deals we can find. Wednesday night we are presenting “Medicare 101” a seminar about how to lower Medicare costs. Our speakers will be Alan Linn from Middleman Services Group and Jeff Olson from the Hudson Group. They will cover a brief synopsis of the different parts of Medicare and how they relate to you. Join us Wednesday night at 6:00 PM. We think you will find this seminar helpful and informational.

Friday we are looking forward to two afternoon musical guests, at 2:30 in our Residential Care lobby our own John Frederick will be singing for our residents. Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and many other favorites can be heard. At 3:00 in our Assisted Living our friend Gordon will be singing for our residents and playing his guitar.

It looks like it will be a great week; we are looking forward to everything it will bring! Join us for some of the fun.  For a full list of activities and events please visit our calendar
