Each week we will present a run down of highlights of what will be going on at Churchill Estates Retirement Community in the coming week. It was a nice yet overcast for most of the weekend, yesterday featured hot weather and a crazy storm, but we are back to a rainy outlook for the beginning of this week, before a sunny end of the week. Over the weekend the Oregon Duck Softball team was sent home early after losing in their first two games of the World Series of College Softball in Oklahoma City. It was a hard ending for the Ducks who spent most of the season as the second best team in the nation. The rough weekend on the diamond continued as the baseball team was also sent home. We hope they both bounce back next year, and best of luck to all the seniors who ended their run in green and yellow.
June is Alzheimer's and Brain awareness month, all month long we will be posting article, pictures and more to raise awareness for this terrible and debilitating disease. Join us in helping spread the word and wearing purple on June 21st for the Longest Day. Find out more about The Longest Day here at their website, click the button.
This week we start off with a shopping trip to the Dollar Store today, a great place to find some deals, even if they cost more than a dollar. Wednesday will be our weekly grocery-shopping trip, this week we will be heading out to Fred Meyer. Thursday will feature visits from some pets, you can see them in all of our lobbies or walking through the halls.
Friday is jam packed with fun things to do. It all starts with a trip to the library to get some good books to read or listen to. For lunch we are going to Papa’s Pizza, one of our residents favorite pizza joints. The afternoon is filled with music as our good friend Stan will be playing his accordion in the Assisted Living and Annie O’Shea will be playing in the Residential Care.
All in all it’s a great week to be at Churchill Estates Retirement Community, come join the fun!
