Each week we will present a run down of highlights of what will be going on at Churchill Estates Retirement Community in the coming week. It was a beautiful warm weekend here in Eugene Oregon, and we enter this week looking forward to more great weather throughout the coming week, stay hydrated!
It was a great weekend for the University of Oregon Track and Field team, hosting the NCAA track and field championships at Historic Heyward field. On Friday the men of Oregon wrapped up a national championship by standout performances from Edward Cheserak, Eric Jenkins and Will Geoghegan who went 1st – 2nd and 4th in the 5000 Meter to secure the title for the Ducks by a whopping 29 points. The Ducks were pushed to the brink of a title by surprise performances by Johnathan Cabral who placed second in the 110-meter hurdles and Marcus Chambers taking second in the 400 meters.
On Saturday the women of Oregon followed suit, ending a 30 year title draught. Jenna Prandini led the way for the Ducks, winning the 100 meter and placing second in the 200. The Women also got a surprise to push them towards the title as true freshman Raevyn Rogers surprised everyone in winning the 800 meter. The sweep is a first for the Ducks track and field program and it seems Coach Robert Johnson has the makings of a potential dynasty building on the fabled track in Eugene.

Today we are going up the street to play bingo at Valley West. It is nice having a neighbor just up the street that we can have intercommunity events with. Our residents enjoy the change of scenery and their residents enjoy the company. Wednesday we go shopping on our weekly shopping trip, this week we are going to Albertson’s to get our groceries.
We wrap up the week with some Wii bowling! We are going back up the hill to Valley West to play some Wii bowling. It’s a great way to bring in the weekend, and some fun to have with our neighbors up the hill. Later in the afternoon our friend Gordon will be playing his guitar in the Residential Care lobby.
All in all it’s a great week to be at Churchill Estates Retirement Community, come join the fun!
