Each week we will present a run down of highlights of what will be going on at Churchill Estates Retirement Community in the coming week. We are half way through the month of August and Football is in the air.
The Ducks started their fall camp last Monday, we are so ready and excited to see them take the field. The quarterback competition is now in full effect as Vernon Adams has now officially joined the team. Last night the Eugene Emeralds paid homage to Civic Stadium their home for years that burned to the ground in July. The Emeralds wore Civic Stadiums jerseys as they took the field last night; it was the perfect settings as 4 pitchers combined to throw the first no-hitter in 47 years. Seems fitting to many of us that those jerseys were worn on the day the no-hitter streak was broken.
This week we start off with a trip up the road to Valley West to play bingo with the residents up there. Tuesday we will have Avon Calling, our residents love coming down to see what Sharon has that’s new. Wednesday we will be out on our weekly shopping trip, this week we are going to Albertson’s to get all the food and snacks. Friday we wrap up the week with our friend Gordon playing his guitar for our residents in our Residential Care dining room.
All in all it’s a great week to be at Churchill Estates Retirement Community, come join the fun!
