EACH WEEK WE WILL PRESENT A RUN DOWN OF HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT WILL BE GOING ON AT CHURCHILL ESTATES RETIREMENT COMMUNITY IN THE COMING WEEK. THIS WEEK, WE ARE IN THE ALOHA SPIRIT FOR SURE!
Temperature-wise, things in Eugene and Springfield have cooled off after a wave of triple digit temperatures last Friday and Saturday but we'll be back to the upper 90's by weeks end.
In Sports, the University of Oregon was represented well at the Olympic Games. Congrats to Galen Rupp with a Bronze Metal in the long distance race, Matthew Centrowitz got Gold in the 1500 meter race, former Oregon Duck English Gardener won gold as part of the women's 4x100 meter relay team, Phyllis Francis won gold as part of the women's 4x400 team. Brianne Theisen-Eaton won the bronze for Team Canada in the Heptathlon, and her American husband Ashton Eaton defended his 2012 Gold medal in the decathlon with success! We are proud these great Olympians have roots in Eugene. Go Ducks!
At Churchill Estates this week we are excited to be active and on the go! Today had morning exercise, played some pokeno, and Bingo in the afternoon. Tomorrow we have organized group walks, coloring club, and will play poker in the evening. Wednesday we'll take a shopping trip to Market of Choice. Thursday we'll have nail care and time to practice some Wii Bowling. On Friday, we cap off the week with a Luau featuring Hula Dancers.
We hope you'll feel welcome to join us! Aloha!
